Vista Reload at Boot & IaStor

My wife's HP A6120n machine with Vista Home, suddenly required Vista to reload files to boot. It does not happen every time, only twice in the last week. She is unhappy. I went through the event logs and found an error or Iastor, so I did a search and found 43 entries. IaStor, IastorV, Files and folders spread mostly in Drivestore folder. HP has a D: for backup which I do not know if it is RAID. How can I identify it? Should there be so many entries for IaStor?
Has anyone else had this issue?
Thanks

Iastore, is the driver name for the Intel ACHI/Raid controller. could be indicating a hard drive problem.

I would run the drive maker's software first and if that passed then run chkdsk

Otherwise just bite the bullet, and by a cheap hard drive and replace it, restore it off the recovery dvds that you made, or if you have not make them now.
