I have an ancient Creative Audigy 1 soundcard. I downloaded the drivers from creative (which are not actually for RC1 or RC2 but for the previous beta builds).

Anyway I can't get my rear 2 speakers to work. I configure 5.1 from the control panal, but when playing music in media player 11, i only get sound from the front 2. I even tried other programs but no luck. As anyone else had this problem

Vista does not support hardware sound as of yet. It looks like MS has no intent to work on this either. Open AL should work though, because it doesn't go through Vista-Land.

Bad news for gamers....DX sound is also a software only proposition at the moment.

I installed RC1-64bit on a new partition about a week ago and it runs fine.... some drivers for my lexmark printer could not be found.... but it did find my ATI drivers (including control center) and installed em from online... i think it looks beautiful but its not the fastest thing on earth...

My comp has been down for a while due to a dead mobo. I installed RC1 a short while before it died. The only problem i was having was that the RC1 drivers for my X850XT didn't work. Has this been fixed in RC2? Does it make sense for me to d'load RC2 now to load onto my system tomorrow when i get my new board?

Vista wont allow me to log into my external network harddrive 🙁 it forces a user@domain login and my external network harddrive doesn't support it (i.e. vista when it sends "Sav" as a login name, sends "mypc/Sav" format) 🙁

i believe it is up to ati to provide the drivers.

last i looked - last week - drivers for vista were 'coming soon'

you might check ati 😉

I am having problem with my Huppauge WintV 500 Tuners with both RC1 and RC2.
I appears to locate and get the drivers by itself, however the picture is all f#$@@# up.

I tried getting the drivers from Hauppauge and Vista does not like them. It only works with it own version (which it sets up automatically), which incidentally shows from hauppague.
By the way I using the 64bit Vista. The only recourse left for me is to use the 32bit and see if everything works okay.

I have checked the Cable wire and the Card they are good.
Anyone experienced the same?

By the way I was using the Media Center to tune to the TV. I have the Beyond TV to try too.

and from what i understand, 64bit Vista is way more buggy than 32. 😉

Yeah, dead.

They even killed my download midstream. 807MB of 2.54GB. Now it just takes you back to the main Vista RC1 page.
