vista RC2 still works on my pc !!?? !!

hello

i just discovered a laptop of mine which was running vista RC2 had not had its date updated. and it still runs RC2 at the moment.
I am about to install Vista Business edition on it. Any reaon why it did not update itself to the new date?

it is a toshiba tablet portege 400, last time i installed RC2 on it. i had to backup its drivers (since it is a tablet). would i need to do it this time too.
do you guys think i should backup the drivers again?

i actually hd RC2 installed on another laptop, and one fine day a few weeks back, it did display the message, that the evaluation had run out or something like that.
it was the same RC2 CD!!
