When Vista came on the Beta scene I installed this and had a key for it, but since then I deleted my key, at least I thought I still had it, but can't seem to find it on my drive now, and I wanted to know does the RC1 5600 need a key to install?

I found a iso link here for it:

Windows Vista RC1 is available for participants of the Windows Vista Customer Preview Program. Please go to the Customer Preview Program website to register and receive a Product Key, which is required to install and activate the software.

Darn I didn't get any email from MS and I can't find my key. 🙁 Does anyone have a extra key?

I have an extra key. I have registered two of them in June 😀

EDIT> sorry i can't spare it, I have installed Vista on 3 computers. you guys will have to wait few more days
 
you can run Vista RC1 for 14 days without any key at all, or until June/July (can't remember which) 2007 with a Beta2 key (or newer)
 
i lost my vista key too. Well i saved it in a file but then deleted it thinking that I wouldn't need it again. Now I want to re-install vista rc1 on my new computer and need my key again.

Does anyone remember how the key was delivered? Via email? (i searched through my inbox but can't find it).

Or if anyone has an extra key, can you please pm it to me? I would really appreciate it.

I got my key when I downloaded the beta, right there on the site was the key listed/given. So anyone with some extra keys?

Yes it was via email, the subject in the mail I got is "Microsoft Windows Vista Beta 2 Order Confirmation and Product Key".
 
Note that I was talking about the Beta 2 signup stuff, they should have sent the serial numbers to whatever your MSN/Passport email is set to, but the B2 key works fine in RC1.

Well let me check my hotmail then, but I do know for a fact when I download the iso the key was listed there on the site.

Nope I never received any emails from MS over this. 🙁
