Vista Randomly Deactivated

I just restarted and for some reason I'm now running in limited use mode. I tried calling dell but it seems they will charge me since my warranty is expired. I really don't want to reinstall and lose everything, is there a better option for me?

Everything is legit, I don't understand why it suddenly did this.

Call Microsoft, not Dell on this. The reps tend to be pretty nice about this.

I'm curious about the outcome of this. Obviously, it's not supposed to happen. A Dell PC with Dell OEM Vista should NEVER require Activation. Never.

What phone number (for telephone Activation) did Vista give you when it failed Activation? A Microsoft number, or a Dell number?
