The two days is throwing me, but sans that it sounds like the well known router/Vista issue. Have you checked for new firmware for your router?

Happens to me as well. Resetting the NIC and restarting network services doesn't help either. Very annoying.

The interesting point is it occurs every two days. Login to your router and see what the DHCP lease time is. Perhaps there is some glitch preventing vista from obtaining a new lease. Maybe you could change the DHCP lease time to a longer interval to prevent this problem from happening that often. Hopefully the professionals can solve this for you!

Good Luck!!!

Please check for a router firmware upgrade anyhow, there are known router issues with Vista which sound much like the issue your seeing...

Afraid nothing more than the second obvious one, checking for new drivers for your NIC...

This page was written for XP but in principle the same process (with a little imagination, coz some of the menu might look different and locate in different spots) can be used for Vista.

Try configuring your IP to use predefined DNS servers instead of getting them from DHCP. At one point my parents were having a similar issue (although in XP) and it was because their ISP was not fully propagating DNS information to DHCP clients consistently.
