what if any is the difference between the windows media player 11 that VISTA comes with and the Windows media center that VISTA comes with, getting more to the point, should I need the media player if I have the media center?

Windows Media Player 11 is an evolution of every media player you have ever known.

Media Center (premium and ultimate) is essentially the Vista version of XP MCE (media center edition)- designed to handle things like TV and DVD and such, it's supposed to be the baseline for an HTPC or a computer used for home theater purposes.

thanks, I noticed that I cannot play DVDs. I tried a different DVD player (powerDVD) and it says that there was a problem with my direct draw, I checked DXDIAG, and it states that I have DX10 and everything is working fine, has anybody else had this problem? does anybody have a solution?
thanks
