Vista question

This may be a stupid question, I signed up for the Vista open beta thing, saw the article on Dailytech regarding the new build. Reading it, they make it sound like the new version is actually available to actually beta testers and not the people who signed up for the public beta. The PC I installed Vista on doesn't have internet access, but if I could hook it up and get the latest build without being an offical beta tester I'd probably jump on it.

beta 2 build is the only public available one. I dont think you can get the latest.

thanks, that's what I thought. So basically unless MS release another public beta, we're stuck with the same build until Vista comes out?

Unless you have an MSDN account or are an actual beta tester than you can't get any of the newer stuff post beta 2. Even the beta 2 public preview is completed. They're no longer taking applications. The next public release will probably be release candidates 1 and 2.

MS will more than likely release what are called release candidates prior to the software going gold or being pressed for release. This will probably happen later this year if they really plan on getting Vista out in Jan of 2007.
