Ive had 3 computers with major performance issues after installing Windows Search 4.0 update. The processors peg out while the Indexes are rebuilding randomly during the day. Anyone else having this issue?
The indexer should be running at low priority mode so this should't cause any noticable slowdown. Something sounds not right.
When the indexing is completed, is everything back to normal? It should only have to rebuild the index once after rebooting when the update is installed.

I run Outlook 2007 SP1 also, I found a few threads on other forums with performance issues concerning this also when running Outlook.
I also found an article on corrupt files causing the indexer to peg out the CPU.
under advanced power options I have indexing and searching set to "balanced" which makes to run when it's idle from what I've heard. forgot to mention I also installed the update and no issues here.
