Here's another question for you......who actually cares?
Search google news and you'll see the plethora of tech articles (not saying that these are the go to opinions for technology) that question why you should even upgrade to vista, as it'll cost you in both software and hardware. Add to that all the people who actually know a thing or two about IT and computers on these and other forums and they'll pretty much have the same opinion. Add to THAT the fact that Microsoft is already planning a service pack 1 for later this year (which is basically an indication that they haven't completely finished Vista), and you tell me whether it's worth it to actually spend any money on it.
I actually decided to spend my money elsewhere, figured if I have to buy new hardware anyway, I went out and bought my first Apple (note: NOT an apple fanboy, but I admire the OS and hardware now that I bought one), the Macbook Pro C2D 2.33GHz. I'm sure it'll run Vista too if I ever wanted to, but for now, XP in Parallels is all I need, if I even need that.
EDIT: btw, I think Microcenter has it, and for decent prices too if you really want it
Oh, and I notice a lot of apple haters (when researching to buy my macbook) don't like the fact that you can't easily configure the hardware on a Mac like you can on a PC. My question to them is this, with MS stuffing activation down people's throats more and more, isn't it getting to the point where if you actually change your hardware you have to go through the pain of reactivating it?
