I used MozBackup to restore a Thunderbird profile. The backup is from another computer's Thunderbird installation, but I wanted to 'test' this backup utility. The test was successful, but then I decided to go look at the folder tree for the profile restoration.

Unfortunately, the Vista default thing to do is to make hidden files and folders invisible, and I cannot figure out how to make them visible. I can do this in XP/W7, but Vista is just raising my BP.

Anyone know how to make hidden files and folders visible in Vista?

it should be the same as win7, i dont have a vista in front of me at the moment but you go into explorer, hit alt to get the menu bar, tool -> folder options -> view Show hidden files and folders, as well as remove the check beside hide protected operating system files which usually hides the thunderbird profile as its located in the userprofile -> appdata folder

Thanks, guys, you have really helped me this morning. I also discovered I could use the Search under the start menu, type in the name of the hidden file/folder, and then click on it. Why its not invisible here but it is invisible in My Computer seems strange.
