Vista keeps forgetting folder view settings

Why the hell won't vista remember my folder view settings? I don't want icons god dammit. I set my entire drive to "all items" so I can see the file details. Yet random folders magically appear as icons. I want to stab something.

I disabled the folder type discovery "feature" and explorer is a lot less annoying now.

Good question and tip. Drives me batty with all the media files I do and then getting the useless Explorer view that tells me I was the author and it is not rated. grr.

I had the same problem, once I installed SP1 it went away.

Reminds me of XP. Haven't noticed it with Vista though I don't know that I would since I had the same problem with no fix on several xp installations.
