Hi folks,

I recently assembled all the hardware for a new build and the machine posted just fine. (original thread - http://forums.anandtech.com/me...231457&highlight_key=y ) The only piece of hardware not listed here is my DVD drive which is a NEC-7900a. I went into the bios but didn't change much but when I tried to install Vista upon trying to expand the files it would stop and give me an error.

the first time i got this: 0xc0000005

second time: 0x800706f8

In both cases it told me to cancel the install and make sure the files are available. Anyone seen this before or know where my problem might be? The Bios is detecting my memory and harddrive so I am not sure what the issue is. I could use some insight if anyone has any.

Have you ever seen that Scrubs musical episode where they sing "everything comes down to poo?" Well, I had an install issue on a rig I built last November, it was a RAM issue, it seems most issues are RAM for myself, run a Memtest, let us know after that.
