Vista install freezes after booting off the cd

ive installed vista 2 once already and had no problems. now on my pc (one showed in my signature) i boot off the cd and it says windows loading files and then i see the loading bar go across the screen and then the unit boots into the beginning screen where it starts the install process. i see the background and thats it. nothing else happens. my mouse moves so its not completely frozen. anyone help me out here?

thanks

How long did you wait after the screen sat there? I have had in some cases had to wait a few minutes before anything happened.

Have you checked the install CD on another PC?

yeah the dvd works fine. honestly i might have waited maybe 2 mins. i didn't think it would take that long with pc i have. the slower one i installed vista on earlier had the menu come up almost immediately.

You'd be surprised how random installs can be...

Give it another shot. In some cases I've literally just left it sitting for awhile. Ate dinner or something. If it wasn't doing anything when I got back I knew it was junk.

yeah finally got it working. when starting up it said it did not recognize my drives (sata raid) so i had to unplug those to get it ot install. once into windows, IE didn't work at all and it constantly froze on me. it needs some work. i haven't had this much trouble on another machine but i imagine because the other machine is more mainstream basic computer.
