I tried installing Adobe Flash Player and now this damn pop-up window will not go away. Every time I refresh the page is shows up over and over again. I've tried everything I can think of and now I'm at the end of my rope with this damn thing. Does anyone have any idea how I can get rid of this? See picture of pop-up below:

Adobe has a fix on there Flash Player support site but it doesn't work.

Adobe Fix

I guess it has something to do with this Protected Mode. If I turn it off the problem goes away. Any reason why I should run in Protected Mode?

Not sure why I even started using IE because I always use Firefox when I'm running XP. I guess I'll just have to install Firefox on Vista.

Protected Mode is a good idea for security reasons. It's proactive protection against unknown exploits. more info if you are interested, 2-page article.

To resolve your issue, find where Flash is installed and run the FlashUtil9c.exe or FlashUtil9d.exe utility (name may vary) by right-clicking it and choosing "run as Administrator". For my 64-bit Vista, this is in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash. Does that resolve it, or does it still do that?

I have the same issue and if the above didn't work you can try what was suggested to me:
"i had this issue too, what i did was go in to ie properties, add ons, disabled adobe flash, closed everything opened ie, closed ie and then went and reenabled adobe flash and all was good."

I haven't tried it yet though because I checked the "Do not warn me again" box. I need to get that popup box back up to see if the suggested fix works. Anyone know how to get that protected mode popup back for flash?
