in vista how do i or can i disable viewing of files that are not executable type?

i prefer a minimalist look, like in mac i want to only see certain file types like .zip,.exe, or .txt...etc but have no need in seeing all the dozens of .dll...etc in every program folder. surely there must be a way or at least a 3rd party app to hide everthing i dont need and select only the types i want to view....would make windows so much less cluttery looking, seems retarded to have seen files that nothing can be done with

Uh.

It's like this by default. Undo what you did. :p

Hit Windows+E. Click the organize menu. Select Folder and Search options. Hit the View tab. Hit the radio button "do not show hidden files and folders", check the box "hide extensions for known file types", check the box for "hide protected operating system files (Recommended)"
