Vista Home Premium to Win 7 Home Premium

working on HP dv9000 Laptop and trying to upgrade to Win 7. I removed all the bloat ware and junk programs that came with the Vista install, downloaded SP2 and installed defraged the drives and when I try to install Win 7 get Error; 0x0 and no other message. Internet search didn't lead me in any direction so here I am with you folks. I also installed Win 7 advisor and got the green light for what I thought would be a error free install.

any help is appreciated.

Just tried to boot with DVD in drive and it tells me to upgrade I have to start from Windows,

any ideas folks?

If there's no data to keep, I'd do a clean install of Win7. Check out this page...

thanks for the replies, after a few re-boots it installed and every thing is working Ok.

We used the postal service for mail
We got along better and weren't so divisive
We better knew how to write in our own language

But, I would not give up my computers today. Tomorrow? Who knows! 🙂
