Vista Home Premium 32 bit on 1 gig ram

Decently. For light stuff, it should be OK. This, of course, assumes a decent modern processor. A semi-decent graphics card/chipset is important too. More specs will give a better answer.

How will it run?

This won't be for gaming. Just internet, documents, etc.

I set my Dad up with Vista Home Premium on 1GB of RAM on an AMD 64 3000+ (single core) and a nVidia 6600GT and it runs like a champ.

Specs would be

E6300
Asrock 4CoreDual-VSTA motherboard
1 GB XMS2 675 RAM
6800 vanilla 128 MB AG video card

Can I run all the aero features?

What about gaming?

Just in case my main rig goes down....

Obviously, my video card is holding me back, but if it ran smooth in XP will it run as smooth in Vista?

You will want to upgrade to 2 gigs of memory if you ever decide to game on it. 1 gig is just not enough for gaming with Vista or even with XP when you take into account the amount of memory games are requiring today.
