vista home basic vs home premium on laptops?

Does the "mobility center" have anything that actually matters? I would imagine I don't need any more advanced power management than XP has. The other features of it are irrelevant to me.
 
I'm bumping this thread instead of starting a new one..

I'm failing to see the necessity for home premium over home basic, for a laptop or desktop ?

If I don't need or want XP MCE features on all my machines, why is home basic not good enough ? Why is basic looked down on by many ? Except for MCE features and Aero, what else is different between Vista Home Basic and Premium ?

And is there any functional feature of Aero that is actually not possible without it, or is it just a different way of doing the same thing ?
