Vista help?

I am using Vista X64. Every night I put the computer to sleep, but it almost always wakes up for some reason. How can I find out what is bringing the beast to life? 😕 I love Vista, by the way.

Automatic updates, automatic defragmenting, etc. They're usually set for weird hours. Why not just turn your computer off?

Completely shutting it off will obviously solve your problem, though you won't be able to quickly turn on your computer anymore if you do so.

Try temporarily disabling these automated tasks using the Task Scheduler (use the Start Menu search bar to find this program) and see if that solves anything.

Thanks for the reply hans & Psych. I know I somehow told the computer to do something in the middle of the night, but didn't exactly know where to look. I think I found the answer in the task scheduler.

Obviously, I could just turn the damn thing off, but what fun would that be?

Thanks again, I really appreciate that people try to help numbnuts like me.
