Vista Hardware Compatibility

When Vista comes out will i have to build a totally new system? I am asking this because i hear that it will not support all the monitors.
system i have:
4000+
BFG 7800GTX OC
MSI K8N NEO4 PLATINUM
NEC ND-3520A
Lite On 52x cdr 16xdvd
2gb OCZ memory

Its more like the monitors wont playback DVD at HD because current ones are not DRM certified or something similar.

That system will make Vista fly with all the settings turned (Avalon or whatever their "3d" scheme is called) on. There is a question for non HDCP compliant monitors and HD playback at this point (but people seem to ignore that this will be true for Apple and Linux as well). I bought a 2405fpw (no HDCP only DVI-D) back in August since I don't watch a lot of movies on my computer and I didn't want to not get a monitor worrying about DRM. Besides, I don't know of too many monitors that have HDCP at this point anyway.

the reason im asking this is because i want to buy the dell 2405 monitor but i dont want it to end up as paper weight. spending close to a thousand dollars on a monitor and then being useless in the future. i like watching dvds on my pc. the only monitor i have seen that will be campatible is the new Gateway 21" widescreen.

The vista specs are not even out yet as far was we know all systems wont work.

Since there are no HDCP compliant monitors that I am aware of even out I don't see how they are not going to have a DVI-D(orI) to HDCP connector to allow for the millions of LCD owners out there to upgrade to Vista. If Vista does require a new monitor there will be a deafening silence in upgrade land. Of course XP looks like the same thing will occur so we move to Apple ... wait the same thing will occur so we move to Linxu ... looks like something like this will also occur there so we are basically sol. I bet, however, that a HDCP to DVI-D(or I) connector will be sold by the time Vista rolls around.

I have a 2405fpw and could care less about protected HD content because I don't watch HD content on my computer so I am lucky in that regard. 64bit Vista I will get you.

Plus, one week before Vista release date the internet will be a flood of little programs to disable this (crazy) feature. I mean: you want to control what I can or cannot watch on my LCD?? Yeah, sure, why not.... This will never happen

I have a Dell 2405 and I'm worried about all of this talk about DRM also. I guess I understand MS is just trying to get people to creat HD content by making them think that its safe from ending up on the internet.

If you do buy a 2405 and Vista doesn't work well with it, then there are going to be many many people that won't use vista.

I think that 5 min after vista is released there is going to be a work around / patch / hack that will fix this. There are just too many of us 2405 owners for them to ignore us.
