I don't know of an 8 core gadget, but you may be able to modify the 4 core to suit your purposes. sfkilla has said in the readme that he doesn't want his code modified due to people stealing his work, but I bet if you wrote to him he'd give you permission.

This is his website http://thehobbylounge.com/ I don't know if it's his personally, but he has an extensive presence there. I doubt there's much market for an 8 core meter, but if you ask sfkilla he may even make you one. I doubt it would be a lot of work. Register on his site, then ask in the forums. You may get results.
