Hey guys, the problem simply is that my Vista Home Premium freezes every half an hour on my laptop....and the only solution to fix it is to manually turn the power off then turn it on. Any help regarding this issue ?. Thanks in advance.

After checking your temps, download MemTest86: link, and burn to disk on another computer. It's most likely a failing RAM stick.

I think idle, just surfing the net.

It's a new laptop I bought from about 6 months ago.

Most of the time I place it over my bed but this problem started from a month.

It's an HP Pavilion dv6000

Thanks.

A quick search shows known overheating problems with that machine, along with a bungch of other annoying issues... even so those temps are pretty extreme. The machine should be physically hot to the touch if those temps are right. Is it? Where is it hot? Could it be the battery? Can you hear the cooling fan running? Do you have the latest firmware? Maybe you'd better call HP support.
