Vista File Transfers

I'm transferring a 4.35GB file over my network. It's only moving at 12MB/sec and vista says it's going to be 40 seconds until it's done. It really takes 6 minutes. Why is this so difficult for Vista to figure out? Earlier I moved like 100GB and it said it was going to take 5 minutes for the first half and then 10 minutes for most of the rest.
 
No idea, but it's certainly not a Vista issue only, as XP never had very accurate calculations either.

I do very much like that Vista tells you the speed of the transfer though.
