Vista Factory Reset Problem

I have a 2 year old Dell Inspiron that I am trying to do a factory resest on. When starting the computer I hit ctrl/F8 and get to the Advance Boot Options Screen. I then hit Repair Computer and Im brought to a blue Windows screen with an icon that says "Other User" and has a place to sign in and input a password.
No matter what I put in there I get an error message that says invalid. Im stuck here. I want to go back to the default rather than doing a full formatting.

It should be listing the users at that are on the vista install. You could try to create a new admin user in vista and see if it shows up. If not you should have the option of making the recovery media on dvds and you can use that to restore back to factory default
