Vista DVD problems?

So I just discovered today that my dvd-rom no longer detects disks when I put them in. It was working fine a couple of days ago as I was able to put a dvd into the drive and use that to rip things. Now I have to put the dvd into my burner for it to detect. Any idea what could have caused this? About the only thing I've installed since it last worked was I think nvidia purevideo and daemon tools.
