VISTA dual boot, need to adjust boot menu

as I have removed the second VISTA drive and really want to eliminate having to choose "earlier version of Windows" every time I boot from my original XP and only drive.

Thanks a bunch in advance.

Dave

The second page of this article talks about that, but since you removed the drive already? Maybe hook up the drive again then use VistaBootPRO? Good luck.

I do not have the drive any more. Gave up on VISTA as there is only so much room in my brain for problems of any type, and it dawned on me that most of my clients will be using XP for the foreseeable future.

I am not sure what article you are referring to above 🙂

If it's still using the Vista bootloader you should be able to boot up the XP CD, get to the recovery console and run fixmbr to reset it back to the XP one. If it's using the XP bootloader already you'll need to edit your boot.ini file.
