Ok, I was getting constant "display driver has crashed and recovered" errors, 26 in the last 2 weeks. I couldn't get any reason for it from event viewer, but kind of traced it back to putting a Dreamscene on my background. I changed the background to a normal one, and the errors have stopped. Anybody else have any problems with it? Does anybody know if it will cost me to submit a ticket to Microsoft?

I believe Dreamscene is still considered Beta, so keep that in mind. They released the beta of it early due to the damand from Ultimate owners.

I havent had any problems with it with a 7950GT. The woman's 1900 doesnt seem to have any problems with it either, but my box with a Quattro cheapo card wont even run it for very long before it gets errors (although never quits working). I would probably lean toward application error since I get no other errors and lord knows I have done a ton to it for testing.

Yeah, I've seen this too but not that frequently. More often I'll get a dreamscene has stopped responding error. I mostly get this with the 3rd party dream files from Stardock, which also tend to have some nasty cpu usage. They are just to pimp not to use tho :)

Some of the MS dreamscenes are using ~5% cpu to run it on dual monitors. The third party ones vary from 15-40%. It's all background though so I don't feel the performance hit at all.

I wouldn't pay to open a case on this unless you see the same problem when the full dreamscene is released. Drivers should be getting some updates by then too.

I'm nVidia too btw.

I haven't had any problems in my little experiments with it so far.

Running an AMD 9700.

That is absolutely correct.

I have only seen reports of the driver restart problem with nVidia drivers. I have tried both 100.65 and 101.41 and get the device driver reset error quite frequently - it's definitely dreamscene/nvidia together.
