Vista doesn't open JPG files correctly

With XP, I would click a photo and it would open it in a real nice viewer called "Windows Photo and Fax Viewer." After one JPG was open, I could toggle through all other photos in this particular folder with the arrow keys on my keyboard. It was easy and fast.

Vista has replaced this program with something called Windows Photo Gallery. Now, if I choose to open the file with Photo Gallery, it instead brings me to the default picture folder and doesn't display the photo at all. Keep in mind, I don't want to "import" all my folders to this stupid program. What is interesting, is that my BMP files are also associated with Photo Gallery. When I click on these, they open perfectly fine in the photo gallery viewer.

The Open With command in Vista appears to be dumbed down to the point it is useless. I can't find any options besides choosing Photo Gallery to view the picture. I can choose other programs, but I prefer something like XP Photo and Fax Viewer. I just installed Google Picasso and when I choose this as the default in Open With, it does the same thing as Photo Gallery.

It is possible the Windows Migration wizard screwed up my JPG associations. I just want to get them back to normal. Since BMP files work correctly, I know there is a setting in there somewhere.

I figured it out. Go to Control Panel/Default Programs/Set Default Programs. Highlight Windows Photo Gallery and choose "Set this program as default." This got rid of some trashy associations, which I really think happened with the Migration Wizard.
