Vista did it again (icon size)

The other day Vista stopped working while idle and nothing running.

While that's not unusual, what is the fact that now all desktop icons are huge.

I have looked until control panel, personalize, help (zero results).

I used the Desktop -> Personalize -> Advanced -> Icon -> Size and reset the value (32) to a variety of numbers....all have no effect.

I did manage to find a thread that showed me a shortcut (ctrl-mouse wheel).

And also when using windows exploder, the folders keep reverting to every view imaginable (EXCEPT the one I set to with APPLY ALL).

I'm just curious what the heck causes Vista to do that? Has anyone run into this?
Anyway to get Vista to NOT make random changes on its own?

Cheers.

You need to revisit your advanced display settings and check the DPI.

I love how everyone is posting fixes to the issue he was complaining about. Those were just examples of things that have happened to him to support his question. Did none of you actually read his QUESTION? He asked if there was a way to keep Vista from making random changes on it's own. As far as i can tell those issues aren't issues anymore, hes either dealt with them or found a fix.

As far as i know... the ULTIMATE answer is yes... stop using Vista. If that isn't an option... the answer is no.

I think there may be a fix for the folder view, but I never tried it. The fix was convoluted, and the success reports were mixed, so I didn't bother. My folder views constantly change, but my icon size is always stable.
