Well, not for me at least. Most of the new stuff is visual (taskbar previews, Flip3D, Aero UI), etc. The only new feature that I REALLY take advantage of is the sidebar, but even that is kinda superfluous.

Well don't forget, the Aero UI takes a lot off of your CPU and offloads it to your video card thus freeing up more CPU cycles for other things.
