Hi,

I got an OEM copy of XP Because I did not want to wonder if the BSOD's I might see were caused by faulty hardware, or windows vista. That said, I did get the coupon from newegg.

My problem is, the coupon says its only for authorized system builders and requires a receipt if I am one or something like that. Newegg's item listing didn't say that though. It just said coupon for windows vista upgrade. Didn't even state a price actually.

In any case, has anyone who is not an "authorized system builder" been able to redeem these coupons? If so, how did you go about doing it? I have until tomorrow to figure it out and I cant seem to get someone from MS on the phone.

I used my Newegg invoice which included all the computer parts I purchased along with the XP CD. This is what I did:

1. Went to the coupon redemption web site (http://upgradeweb.moduslink.com/vista) and fill out their form.
2. I then receieved an email from them with a Order confirmation number.
3. Finally, I faxed my NewEgg invoice to them with the Order confirmation number in the fax banner page. I also scanned my NewEgg invoice into a PDF and email it to the email at: MSTUPVISTANA@moduslink.com just to be sure they had my proof of purchase.

It took about two months for them to send me the Vista DVD.
