Vista; Computer goes to switch user instead of sleep

About last week my computer started to go to the switch user screen instead of going to sleep like normal. I have tried to hit the yellow button (for lack of better word) and also clicking 'sleep'. nothing works.

I am running Vista Home Premium 32-bit on a Lenovo laptop.

Any suggestions?

Any software you added recently? If it went in sleep mode fine before then its probably some rogue process or driver preventing sleep mode.

You could try opening a terminal (start > run > cmd) and type in:

powercfg -a

it may list the cause.

Thanks for the help, I haven't found the reason yet but I think I'm going to try to find out what I might've installed to cause the problem
