Vista Color Profiles... ruining Photoshop

I don't know if I should post it here or on Video (But I suspect many people on Video forums are still running XP).

But anyway, I've had the same problem with Vista 32 and now Vista 64, and I've heard others complain about it too..

Basically, Windows Photo Gallery is not showing correct colors, and somehow Photoshop is doing the same. The Gamma I believe, is all wrong, it darkens the image and makes it warmer than it should be. Firefox, Paint, IE etc all show the correct image.

I tried reinstalling Photoshop a million ways, I can't figure out how to reset that setting. I believe Photoshop asked me when I first installed whether to use the Windows Color profile, saying that there was an error. I should have said NO, but I said use it anyway...

Anyway, anyone else having issues or have a fix?

Ah, nvm I discovered that Windows Update added a custom color profile to my Dell monitor... which screwed up the color settings in select programs. I removed the profile and now all is well. I guess if anyone else has this problem, this can be a lesson 🙂

Moving along...
