Vista: Cannot copy file from desktop to another folder

I recorded a video file, from WMC, and placed it onto my desktop. I am now trying to copy that file to my "My Videos" folder. UAC tells me that I need Adminstrator permissions. I hit OK and keep getting the same message about access being denied. I have copied several other files to this fodler without a problem, so the problem appears to be with the permissions on the file, not the destination folder.

Hmmm... try this real quick.

1) make a New Text Document on your desktop.

2) Select both the video and the New Text Document, either with CTRL+click or by dragging a box around them

3) try moving them both to your My Videos folder. What happens now?

/ guesswork

Also, yeah check the permissions on the file.

Thanks for the reply. As it turns out, I guess that the file was not really there. After trying lots of things without success, I rebooted my computer, and the file was gone. I searched the hdd and found it in another folder. I can copy it successfully now.
