Vista Business Academic version

Nocturnal

Lifer
Does anyone know how if this particular version has its own disk?

Reason I am asking is that I have a license per the MSDN Academic Alliance that my school goes through; however, I am supposed to use the MSDNAA downloader but it ALWAYS times out or gives me an error. I already have the actual license/CD-Key to use but I just need the media.

Does anyone know if I could use the regular Business disk or does the Academic version have its own disk?

As far as I can tell, they don't send you a DVD or anything. I believe it does come in a commerical packaged DVD (blue I think). It's available for download as a DVD iso image (about 2.something GB) or 5 CD depending on your MSDNAA program. Are you downloading the image from laptop using wifi or wired LAN? It seems more reliable to download it at your university's main PC (took me only 12 minutes for the entire download and CRC checking). It's also possible that MANY students/staffs are downloading concurrently right now. I downloaded mine about two weeks ago although Home Preium or Ultimate would've been nice (I just want the Media Center).

Then burn the iso directly onto a reliable DVD-+R or copy to a portable hard drive (they have Nero 6 on my campus' computers). You can burn it as a regular data file or use the "burn image" option. I chose the latter and also copied the iso onto my portable hd. You may also want to do a MD5 hash check on both ISO. Google for Nero MD5 Verifier (free).
