Vista Boot error: "Error 17"

Trying to install Vista on a new machine, new Sata 3 500gb hd. The HD had been used for storage in an XP machine, however I deleted that old partition and started new, with 2 seperate partitions.

After going through the entire installation process, Vista boots up for a split second, and then it reboots. It then comes up with the error 17

Any suggestions?
