Vista Black screen after green loading bar

Hi,

I need some help regarding an issue I encountered. I assembled a mini PC using a j&W MINIX 780G based PC with an Athlon II 250, 4gigs of RAM. I used my spare 200 gig Samsung HDD. Vista installs fine and works great, the system is rock solid. However if I cold boot the system (meaning the plug has been pulled for the night) the system won't boot further after the green bar disappears on Vista load, there's only a black screen. Reset doesn't help either. The solution I could come up and works is to enter the BIOS and quit saving the changes (I change nothing) then Win boots in no time and again it works great. I've tried Win 7 RTM but the same issue persists so it doesn't seem OS related. Now I'm trying another HD a WD one, but if anyone has an dea, please don't hold back. 🙂

Thanks!

weak CMOS battery? You pull the plug...some settings in bios get lost (current time/date ?)..thus causing problems booting. Re-entering and saving the bios would restore those settings. Just a guess...
