Vista + BF2 BSOD

I have no idea what to do. I've got the 5728 build. BF2 is patched up to 1.4.
I have installed these drivers:
96.33_forceware_winvista_x86_international for GEForce 6800GT
SBXF_PCDVTBETA_L3_2_11_0000 for X-Fi

Can any one help me...

 
a heard a lot of games have issues currently under vista, i would say use xp for the game since its probably vista causing the problem, maybe due to a driver issue under vista. are all the other drivers "the latest" with "vista" support for them, even chipset, etc.? did BF2 ever work for you in vista? or did you use to use it under xp without a problem on the pc?
 
i checked support.ea.com for battlefield2 and what i found was

We currently have no titles that are supported under Windows Vista. This operating system is still in it's beta stage. Since these games were developed before the Windows Vista operating system was created, our older games are not guaranteed to run correctly.

ea's article does go on to say (including the poor grammar/typo)
You may want to try to get an older Windows XP game to run is running it in compatibility mode

Once the game is installed:

Find the game icon listed in your games directory.
Right click on the game and click on Customize. This will bring up the customize menu.
Select Play.
Select Edit.
This will bring up the Properties screen. Click the Compatibilitytab.
Check run in compatibility mode and then choose Windows XP or whatever operating system the game was designed for.
Press Apply then press OK. You will be back at the customize menu.
Close the customize screen.
Now the game is configured to run in Compatibility mode.

i remember someone had an issue with C&C running on xp, it would crash as soon as it opened the prog for yuri's revenge, i set the compatibilty to 98 to get that to run properly, even when i called ea tech the idiots said to reinstall the game, each time someone talked to them. 🙁 I hope this works for you, i guess bf2 crashes as soon as you open it.

Debug it using my debug guide and let us know what the problem was.
 
I was looking for solution to my Bf2 problem when saw this post..

Its a Nvidia driver issue for Vista Rc2. Even the newest ones released still having Tearing in bf2 and can't get it fixed with any of there beta drivers. 🙁
