I believe this is a beta problem related to buggy drivers.

Internet pages load painfully slow ... if they do at all. I can't download updates for my virus scan either. I'm also experiencing frequent disconnections from the internet. Am I the only one having this problem? Has anyone found any work-arounds/better driver sets?

Here's my specs:

MSI K8NGM2-FID s939
Opteron 165 (mild oc @ 2ghz)
CORSAIR XMS 1GB (2 x 512MB)
Seagate 160 gig Sata II
Western digital 160 gig 7200 IDE
Western digital 120 gig 7200 IDE
X800 128mb ddr3
DVDRW drive

The system is rock solid stable with good temperatures and voltage readings through out. It runs like a charm on Win XP. However, Vista is another story. I'm hoping that others on here may have experienced similar issues and have found fixes.

Can anyone help me out?

i'm having problems with my wireless networking in Vista. It doesn't seem to like to connect to WAPs or routers with WEP enabled. It'll connect fine if I turn WEP off, but it says "Failed to connect to network Belkin54g due to unknown reason", I think. It's really annoying me.

Bump

Anyone else having problems with nforce 4 network controller in Vista Beta 2 x86? Has anyone found a better performing driver set? The "out of the box" controller in the Beta is awful.

NVidia has beta drivers for NF4 that work just fine. There is no installer, you'll have to install by inf detection (manual) but they do work once loaded.

Linky

Have fun.

Edit: hmm, NV says the out of the box drivers in Vista are all you need. I guess those are the ones I used, also, and I can't remember having any issues with them. :(

Thanks a bunch! Now maybe I can actually form a decent opinion on how the beta functions.

Edit: Same driver set I have. The network driver isn't in the package. It states that in the description.

Yeah, I'm sorry to have gotten your hopes up needlessly. I wonder what's different about the network controller on the 6100 series chipsets than on my NF4 SLI that they'd react so differently to the built in driver?

Have you checked the Vista Newsgroups for solutions?

I have a very similar setup (see my sig) and I had some slight problems with browsing on vista beta 2 but when I installed nVidia's nForce 430 driver for winXP-64 it seems to have solved the problem, I have yet to try the v8.26 drivers released last thursday but I'll let you know how it goes when I do.

If you want me try specific sites or something let me know and I'll tell you my experiences with it.
