Vista audio problemy

Hey, I recently installed Vista ultimate on a new build and now I have no sound. I have realtek onboard audio and driver version 6.0.1.5392. I get no sound from my speaker, it recognizes that it is plugged in the jack tho. Any ideas? I installed the microsoft update for HD audio as well.

Download and install these drivers for standard realtek audio:

Realtek 6.2.43 for Vista

Download these drivers if you have realtek High Definition audio:

Realtek 1.71 High definition Drivers for Vista

These are the latest drivers, just make sure you pick the correct ones.

how do I tell if I have HD audio or not?

Ok Fix. I have HD audio, the driver worked. The 'front speaker' port on the back panel is where the speaker jack worked.
