I just purchased an Acer Aspire 5570Z. The laptop has Vista home premium installed. My current home network is setup this way:
cable modem --> befsr81 v2-->wrt54gs v2 setup using the instructions provided by linksys

After disabling the checksum for ipv4, I am able to connect to the internet thru a lan connection. But I am unable to connect wirelessly online. I can connect to my router, but cannot get internet connectivity.
When I use the the built in Network troubleshooting program the response is that it cannot get a response from the DNS server.
Vista shows that my computer is connected to the router, but then from the router to the internet it shows a big X.

My question is there something I have to disable like how i disable the checksum for the lan connection? On the linksys site it shows that the wrt54gs should work with vista with no problems. So I am not sure why i am getting this problem.

Any help would be appreciated.

looks like i spoke too soon. When I'm connected thru a wireless connection, it seems to drop. when i ping 192.168.1.1, the main router, i get that 2 out of the 4 pings, the request timed out, otherwise it will take around 2ms to ping.

Now I do have a computer connected thru the wireless router thru one of the ports and that computer does not run into this problem.

i'm currently using dd-wrt v23 sp1 standard.

any suggestions?
