I'm looking to buy a USB Flash Drive to be used with Vist Home Premium 32bit. 4gb of RAM in my desktop but feel free to give general replies.

I'm curious what size is best. Is it a case of "The bigger the better!" or after 1 or 2gb are you just wasting your money?

Also what write/read speeds are needed, or is it again the higher the better?

Are there any brands/models that are to slow to make much different that people should avoid? On ebuyer [It's a UK shope so you may not know it] there "extra value" flash drives are apparantly too slow to work well. And the 2GB Kingston DataTraveler DTI/2GB

"This device does not have the required performance characteristics for use in speeding up your system"
 
I wouldn't say it's useless, but with lots of RAM, it seems to make an unnoticeable difference.

I'd suggest getting the x64 version of your OS w/ 8 GB RAM.

Much better overall performance.

Anyway if someone wants to answer the question for anyone else searching [who has less ram] feel free.

The SanDisk Cruzer Micro line is USB ReadyBoost.

However do not expect any real Boost.

The technology wold be useful in the future when HD would be cpmbos Disks and Solid State.
