Vista and the Nvidia 7950 GX2

Despite the fact that the 7950 GX2 box has "Built for Windows Vista" stamped all over it, they don't seem to work together. Every build of Vista since Beta 2 (versions prior to that are OK) has given me a BSOD after install. If I swap out the card, it works.

Has anyone gotten Vista to work successfully with a 7950 GX2?

Same issue here. After installing and booting from HD for the first time, the cooler goes full throttle and nothing else happens. I don't even get a blue screen, just darkness.

After swaping to a X1900XT, everything works fine. Have yet to try sticking the GX2 back to see if works. During install, the GX2 must not be in the machine.

What kills me about it is that Nvidia continues to release drivers for vista, and they say that the 7950 GX2 is supported in the newest ForceWare bundle. I emailed their tech support over a week ago, and they haven't responded.

I learned yesterday that current RC1 build and Nvidia drivers do not support SLI for the moment (including the 7950GX2). The built in support should come on the next Nvidia driver.

So for the moment, 7950GX2 + RC1 = NO GO
