So, I am running Vista Ultimate and I can't seem to change the resolutions in any of the games that i have. When I do change them, they just go back to some default, undefined resolution.

I havent really heard of this problem from anyone else, so I dont know what the deal is.

System Specs:

e6850
eVga 8800 Ultra-163.44 beta drivers
4gb ram
Monitor is a sony fw900. 1920x1200 at 85hz

I have tried going into the config files of my games to manually set the resolutions, but that still doesnt work. I have gotten it to work in RTCW, though.

Also, all of the games that I am playing right now are through steam. I dont know if this is a Vista issue or a Steam issue.

Thanks.

Hmm, I am running an 8800GTX in Vista x64, and don't have that problem, using the same drivers as you. I run at 1920x1080, and every other set of drivers seems to remove that resolution, so I have to change the .ini file.

Are you running your desktop resolution at 1920x1200? Have you tried lowering your desktop resolution, so see if that allows you to change the in game resolution? I haven't run any steam games on Vista, but my roomate was recently playing half life 2 on vista, and it was working fine, he's also using an Nvida card.
