If you are upgrading to vista and have an older model hp printer, you know something like 3 years or more old then hp will not provide proprietary drivers and software for it. I learned this today when I looked for new drivers for my all in one psc2210v. They were nice enough (sarcasm) to offer an upgrade tool on the same page so I could see what new models were being supported in vista. Thanks hp. Now I think I'll go and buy a canon(spelling corrected).

Even though I am not planning to upgrade to vista anytime soon, I did check the Canon web site regarding a older canon printer I have---and Canon now has vista drivers for it in 32 and 64 bit
versions.

Same problem here.

Need the ToolBox feature to clean the ink heads and there is no options to install ToolBox for Vista.

Both Microsoft & HP should civiliy held accountable either by providing drivers pronto or providing a new printer that works.

I'm not all that sold on Canon either. I had a Canon 5000 series printer(don't remember exactly which one) that was about a year old when XP came out. Canon did not write a XP driver for it and there were no drivers that would work. At least my HP 2110 will print properly under Vista.

YOU chose to buy the printer.
YOU chose to buy Vista.
Neither MS nor Canon forced you to buy their product nor did either tell you that your printer would work with the other's product.

"...should be (sic) civiliy held..."
Do you mean politely be held accountable?

"...held accountable either by providing drivers pronto or providing a new printer..."
Civil accountability is established by legislatures or the courts.

"...be held accountable either by providing drivers pronto or providing a new printer that works"
That could be a remedy for a civil lawsuit, but I doubt any court or legislature would try to force a corporate entity to develop and supply a free upgrade or a free product.

So whats your problem?
...I think we all know.

Both my Canon 3 and 4 year old printers and 3 year old Canon scanner had Vista drivers available when Vista went RTM in November? I still have a pile of HP junk waiting on XP drivers.
