Vista and Nforce 3 SATARAID

Stumps

Diamond Member
I've been trying for some time to get my Windows Vista Ultimate to install on my GA-K8NS PRO Nforce 3 SATARAID controller with out any luck.

Vista can see both of my Maxtor Maxline 3 250GB's as seperate drives but not as a single 500GB Raid 0 array.

is there any way to get it to install on an Nforce 3 SATARAID controller?

Your SATA RAID controller probably runs in legacy mode only. I had the same issue with my DFI SLI-DR Expert and had to use some modified RAID drivers to get it working. I still had issues with installing Vista to a RAID volume, though.

You might want to check out this guide as it should apply equally to Nforce 3.

Thanks, I might look in to that, but for now I just took the easy way out and used my Silicon Image SIL3512 SATARAID controller...it's almost as fast as the Nforce 3 controller...and it works with vista perfectly fine.
