Vista and home networking

I started installing my copy of vista (business) and then realized it was only 32bit and not 64. I now have a copy of 64 on the way but I did come across one problem during the limited use I gave it. On xp setting up a home network so I could access any computers files from any other computer was easy. When I started setting up home networking it seemed to take sole control of my router for the vista machine and blocked access to the router (and internet) and vista computer for the other machines.

How do I set it up to not repeat this when I reinstall?
