Vista and DVD burners

I recently built a new Core 2 Duo system for my friend. It has Q66 with a GA-P35-S3 board.

NOW TO THE ISSUE. The computer runs on Vista Ultimate and I have 2 'Pioneer DVR-115DBK' 20x DVD rewriters. I don't know what is seriously wrong with them. First when I installed Vista, they didn't recognise blank DVD's and couldn't burn onto them with Nero.
Recenlty, I updated the firmware on them and now Vista doesn't even recognise it.

I know that they work since I gave them to my other friend to test who has Vista Ultimate and they worked fine.

Are they detected in BIOS?..have you installed chipset drivers for your motherboard etc..also what version of Nero are you using,I hope its Nero 7 version 7.5.7.0 or later.
Anything in Device Manager as a problem?

FYI I do have a Lite-ON DVD and LG DVD burner ,plus Samsung DVD Rom drive all working fine in Vista x64 with Nero 7(mine is version 7.10.1.2).

Also try this try
1: Click on Computer(should be just below Recent items via start menu) then go to the DVD drive icon in question.
2: Right Click on your DVD RW Drive and select Properties.
3: Under Recording tab see if the "Enable CD/DVD Recording on this drive " is enabled.
