I have a older PC running Vista Business and a SoundBlaster Audigy2 sound card. I played a song on Windows Media Player and the sound is garbled and glithy with tickings ounds too. The song sounded better than worse but not good enough to keep listening to. I tried sevral songs all with the same result. If anybody can point me in the right direction for a solution it wuld be appreciated. Yes, I have every single latest driver there is for my computer. Thanks!

Your problem is your trying to use an older sound card with a new OS that doesn't support that card. Worst yet is Creative will not produce working drivers for that card to run with Vista. If you want to use a nice sound card you'll need to buy a new one that is compatible with Vista.

You are kidding right? This sound card isn't too old but now that I think about it, Vista does like to reject lots of stuff like my video camera and scanner. But it did give me some sort of driver for the card. I just went with it. I didn't try to install the proper drivers. You are saying that they won't work for this card. I'll have to check. Thanks BTW!

Check the manufactures web page. If they offer Vista drivers for the card then great. Chances are they don't. Most anything like sound cards, other peripherals cards, scanners, printers and cameras that where released before Vista and where not vista certified will not work. It would cost companies allot of money to rewrite the drives for there older hardware to work with Vista.

There's 3rd party drivers as well which could be better than the original Vista drivers. Remember that the time when Creative got flamed like half a year ago?

Anyways, the drivers were called Daniel K's Drivers or something. They could be found on ThePirateBay.

Yeah I downloaded the Daniel K drivers (filename SBAX_PCDVT_LB_2_15_0004EQ.exe but there are several versions), but I can't find a link.

mpilchfamily, what are you going on about?

I agree Creative is a craptacular company for drivers, but that said, there are many of us running Vista just fine with Audigy 2s...
I'm one of those many.

Hermskii, go to Creative's site & download the latest drivers if you haven't already.
Here's the link; choose your model: http://support.creative.com/Pr...CatName=Sound+Blaster#

Don't use the ones that Vista installed automatically...i've had issues with those also, but Daniel K's & even Creative's own old beta ones & now the newer ones have worked just fine for me since i started running Vista long ago.
